Welsh Champion Tredegar ensured they kicked off 2024 with a communal boost of confidence at their annual awards evening held in Cardiff.
They also marked the occasion by presenting their annual awards that reflected on contributions made by both individuals, sections and administrators.
The 'Player of the Year' award went to principal cornet Dewi Griffiths, with the 'Players' Player' accolade presented to EB bass Lewis Rees.
'Bandsperson of the Year' went to percussionist Ben Hannaford-Waddington, with the hard fought 'Section of the Year' being claimed by the trombone team of Ryan Richards, Josh Herman, Ioan Jones and Andy Austin.

Lots to look forward to
Speaking to 4BR, Musical Director, Ian Porthouse said: "It was a great way to kick-start 2024, especially after such a demanding year in 2023.
The players thoroughly deserved their awards, but the band is built on an inclusive musical ethos, something that Alwyn Powell represents better than anyone else.
He added: "There is a lot to look forward to in 2024 — starting this weekend with a concert in Newtown in mid-Wales and then with our performance alongside Matthias Hofs at the RNCM International Brass Band Festival in Manchester."
