The Brass Band Conductors Association has announced that Mareika Gray will replace Sarah Groarke-Booth on the adjudication panel for their flagship competition.
It follows an unforeseen change in Sarah Groarke-Booth's availability and will now see Mareika join Paul Holland.
Day of competition
They will judge the 12 semi-finalists on Saturday 17th June conducting the Hammonds Band on John Golland's 'Sounds', as well as Edward Gregson's 'The World Rejoicing'. Six finalists will be subsequently chosen to conduct Eccles Borough Band in the Gala Concert (7.30pm) in Eccles Town Hall. They will be conducted by Russell Gray.
Mareika is a past Chairperson of the BBCA, and actively involved with both the BBCA. She is also the MD of Eccles Borough Band and professional conductor of Ratby Co-operative Band, both of which she has led to considerable success.
Both the competition and Gala Concert are free to attend, with a retiring collection at the end of the concert.
