Unite the Union Band has signed six new players ahead of their British Open Spring Festival Senior Cup appearance in Blackpool on the weekend.
Signings
Elizabeth Chung, younger sister of solo trombone Chris and a member of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain joined on soprano from Hade Edge earlier this year, whilst around the same time the band welcomed BBb bass player Andy Emms. Andy was a past member and has decided to return.
He has since been joined in the foundation building section by fellow BBb player Hayden Ellams from Hatfield & Askern Colliery to form a team of invaluable experience.
They are also joined by solo euphonium signing, Will Francis from Rainford Band where he played before moving across the Pennines to study at the University of Sheffield. Completing the 'Super Six' are horn player Gill Walters and Trevor Kendall on repiano — both from South Yorkshire Police Band.
