Worldwide banding focus on the Kapitol this weekend

All the focus of the banding world will be on the Royal Albert Hall in London this weekend as 20 bands take to the iconic stage to compete in the Championship Section final of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

The event is organised by Kapitol Promotions and will see the contenders perform Peter Graham's 'Hyperlink', commissioned by the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain for their Platinum Anniversary this year, with the band making a special appearance before the announcement of the results.

The Fanfare Trumpeters of the Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment will herald the announcement of the 2022 National Champion Band which will be made by Simone Rebello.

The decision itself will be made by the adjudicators Dr Robert Childs, Dr Stephen Cobb and Rob Wiffin OBE.

Recordings

As reported on 4BR, all performances are being recorded by World of Sound, who will also be exhibiting at Door 6, with all 20 renditions of 'Hyperlink' available to be enjoyed on the www.wobplay.com recording platform as soon as the results are revealed.
