EBBA
The competition forms part of the 2023 European Championships in Malmo

The European Brass Band Association (EBBA) is inviting applications from performers to compete in the 9th European Soloist Competition in Malmo in May 2023.

The event will be one of the main competition attractions of the 2023 European Brass Band Championships, which take place in the Swedish city from Saturday 29th April to Sunday 7th May.

Open

The competition is open to brass band brass and percussion performers who are resident in EBBA member countries, born after 1st January 1994.

Entries must be submitted by 31st January 2023.

A maximum of 20 competitors will be chosen from video performance submissions. Each competitor selected to perform in Malmo will give a performance of a work of his or her own choice with piano accompaniment.

These performances will be held on 1st May. Three soloists will qualify for the final to be held on 3rd May.

Very high standard

Speaking about the event, EBBA President Ulf Rosenberg told 4BR: "By having the number of competitors invited to Malmo limited to 20, we can be sure that the standard will be very high."
