Welwyn Garden City Band has announced the appointment of Will Douglas as its new Musical Director.
The talented King's College music graduate has played trombone with Championship Section East London Brass for the last six years. He was also a key figure in the formation of the King's College University brass band which competed successfully at the 2022 UniBrass and Cory Online Brass Band Championships.
Promotion aim
Will, who has also gained experience conducting orchestras and directing ensembles for musical theatre, developing a keen interest in the genre, said: "I hope to use this to lead Welwyn Garden City to success at the next area competition, aiming to win promotion back into the Second Section."
In response to the appointment, Band Chairman Steve Dias added: "We look forward to a busy summer concert schedule under Will's direction and to his future work with us in the contesting season."
