Details have been announced of the 2nd Japan Brass Band Ensemble National Championship.

Although COVID-19 remains an issue in the country concert audiences have been allowed in auditoriums with a capacity of up to 5,000 people. A number of wind band and concert band concerts have also been held.

Hosts

Makoto Sekiya, Vice-President of Japanese Brass Band Directors Association told 4BR: "The competition will be hosted by the Japanese Brass Band Directors Association on 23rd February 2021.

Preliminary tape judging will be undertaken with a deadline for entrants of the 28th December 28th 2020."

Divisions

There will be a Junior Division (under 13 years old) as well as a Youth Division (under 23) and a Championship Division (open) for brass trio and up to 10 piece Brass (with 2 percussionists)
