Japan to hold Ensemble National Championships

The Japanese Brass Band Directors Association will host the second Brass Band Ensemble National Championship in February.

It will be the second time that the event has been held.

Details have been announced of the 2nd Japan Brass Band Ensemble National Championship.

Although COVID-19 remains an issue in the country concert audiences have been allowed in auditoriums with a capacity of up to 5,000 people. A number of wind band and concert band concerts have also been held.

Hosts

Makoto Sekiya, Vice-President of Japanese Brass Band Directors Association told 4BR: "The competition will be hosted by the Japanese Brass Band Directors Association on 23rd February 2021.

Preliminary tape judging will be undertaken with a deadline for entrants of the 28th December 28th 2020."

Divisions

There will be a Junior Division (under 13 years old) as well as a Youth Division (under 23) and a Championship Division (open) for brass trio and up to 10 piece Brass (with 2 percussionists)
