The contest has been postponed with hopes a new date can be fitted into the calendar.

IBB Media Ltd, the organisers of the BrassPass UK Band of the Year Contest have announced the postponement of the event due to take place on 23rd May.

Postponed

Managing Director Martin Gernon told 4BR: "With the ever worsening situation of the Coronavirus outbreak, we have postponed, and we stress postponed, and not cancelled, this year's contest.

We hope to stage the contest later in the year at the same venue, and we are canvassing bands at the moment on prospective suitable dates, and hope to make a further announcement in a week's time.

We are also taking the precaution of canvassing further venues and dates to give maximum opportunity for bands and audience alike."

Further announcement

He added: "In the meantime, we hope everyone stays safe and we like everyone else, hope to an end to this pandemic sooner rather than later. Expect a further announcement on the new contest date at the earliest opportunity."
