Double Tales for Tredegar

Welsh Champion opens its doors for two nights as they prepare for the defence of their title.

Welsh Champion Tredegar will be holding two open rehearsals ahead of the defence of their title in Swansea on the weekend.

Their rehearsals at their bandroom on Thursday and Friday evenings (both 7.45pm) will be open to anyone to come along and enjoy a sneak preview of their preparations on Philip Sparke's 'A Tale As Yet Untold' under the direction of MD Ian Porthouse.

The rehearsals on Thursday 27th February and Friday 28th February will both start promptly at 7.45pm at the bandroom on Gelli Road, Tredegar NP22 3RD4BR

Both nights

He told 4BR: "We always have an open door policy — so we thought it would be good to welcome visitors on both evenings. We've thoroughly enjoyed working on the test-piece and it would be great to welcome as many people to listen to it on both nights."

Chinnor Silver

November 25 • You need to be quick, we are almost full but just require Eb bass and percussion. We are a friendly, welcoming and ambitious band and start 2025 at the top of our second section ranking table. We rehearse on a Wed evening in our own bandroom in Chinnor.


Hathersage Band

November 25 • Hathersage Brass Band is a thriving community band. We enjoy making music and have a good gig schedule. An opportunity has arisen for the right person to join our Principal Cornet Ed as co-principal. Are you up for the challenge? This is our only vacancy.


Wakefield Metropolitan Brass Band

November 23 • Bb Cornet, Euphonium, Eb Bass and Percussion required to complete the line-up.. Under the Direction of Duncan Beckley, the band is keen to fill these few remaining seats.
