After an enjoyable but difficult voting process after receiving a wide range of entries from all parts of the world, the A4 Brass Quartet has announced the finalists of their 2019 Composition Competition.
The seven entrants will now progress to a final round which will be judged by the quartet in cooperation with internationally renowned composer and tutor Gary Carpenter and arranger, publisher and RNCM Brass Band Festival Artistic Director, Paul Hindmarsh.
Quality
Speaking on behalf of the A4 Brass Quartet, horn player Jonathan Bates told 4BR: "Once again we've been humbled by the quality of the compositions from across the globe. This year they came from four continents.
We'd like to thank everyone for taking the time to generate such exciting new repertoire and we hope it lights the fire of inspiration for composers to write more chamber music for brass!"
