Men United score success in County Durham

The team of players representing the fund raising Men United Band enjoyed a great debut appearance in County Durham on the weekend.

Men United
Not quite Giggs, Scholes and Beckham — but not a bad line-up of top cornet talent...

Men United enjoyed a winning start on their kick-off appearance in County Durham on the weekend, as the special fund raising event supporting awareness and research into prostate cancer was a great success.

Entertained

Over 30 of the finest brass and percussion musicians from Northern England and Scotland joined forces as the Men United Brass Band at Chilton Community Sports and Social Club in County Durham, where they entertained a packed audience with their easy listening, expertly delivered playing.

Led by Foden's MD, Michael Fowles the concert raised well over £2,000.

We're absolutely delighted that we were able to raise £2166 on the night for this great causeorganisers

Delighted

Hugh Stephenson one of the organisers told 4BR: "We're absolutely delighted that we were able to raise £2166 on the night for this great cause.

Many thanks to our conductor Mike Fowles, all the players, the terrific audience, the staff at the club for their hard work and to the Geneva Group for their support, and to Barclays Bank for their match funding."
