Fourteen Welsh and Wales-based composers have been selected to participate in Ty Cerdd's CoDI Composer Pathways initiative.
As part of the organisation's remit to promote and celebrate the music of Wales, it attracted 65 applications, with a specialist panel selecting the composers paid creative development opportunities in the fields of Chamber, Electronic and Theatre music.
The multi-faceted programme, aims to create a community of Welsh composers, promote shared learning and collaboration, and provide creative opportunities.

Alan Chamberlain, Poumpak Charuprakorn, Tanya Dower, Kirsten Evans, Richard McReynolds and Daniel Soley will link up with the Swansea Laptop Orchestra and its composers Jenn Kirby and Simon Kilshaw, culminating in a public performance at the Bangor Music Festival in February 2019.

Quality
Ty Cerdd Director Deborah Keyser told 4BR: "The response to CoDI from composers has been extremely enthusiastic — and the panels have been blown away by the number and quality of applications.
The 14 composers selected for Chamber, Electronic and Theatre represent a range of styles and backgrounds, and we're excited to get going with the three projects in September.
