Tredegar Band has announced that they have accepted an invitation to perform at the Gala Concert of the prestigious 'Brass Festival Linz' in Austria later this year.
The event will take place at the famous Brucknerhaus concert hall on the 18th November.

MD Ian Porthouse told 4BR: "We're honoured to accept the invitation for what will be the culmination of the high profile festival in the city and which also includes the hosting of the 5th Austrian National Championships."
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the festival added: "We are aware of Tredegar's commitment to innovative artistic projects and the way in which they seek out exciting performance opportunities.
That is very much the ethos behind the 2018 Brass Festival Linz series which will close with the hosting of the National Brass Band Championships and Gala Concert."

It will be the second time in 2018 that the Welsh band will travel to the country, as they will also perform at the famous Innsbruck Promenade Concert series in July, although the decision means that Tredegar will not be able to accept the invitation to compete at the Brass in Concert Championship in Gateshead, which takes place on the same weekend.
"It's a great pity that the events take place at the same time, as we thoroughly enjoyed our return to Brass in Concert last year,"Ian Porthouse added.
"We have informed the organisers and have expressed our wish to return if possible in 2019."
