The talented young players of the Black Dyke Junior and Youth Trombone Quartets are putting their instruments into protective bubble wrap ahead of a trip of a musical lifetime this week.
Hannah Stell, Gemma Riley, Carl Ashworth, Ian Ashworth, Josh Barber, Lloyd Brown, Joseph Heartfield and Adam Warburton (above) will fly to Singapore to feature in the prestigious Singapore Low Brass Festival at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
Amazing
Black Dyke trombone star Brett Baker told 4BR: "Festival Organiser, Ben Pei and I thought we would change the timing of the event from the July to November this year and the response has been amazing.
It has allowed the festival to grow and also incorporate some very exciting young artists to compliment the world stars that are attracted each year to perform.
Last year the Black Dyke Senior Trombone Quartet took part and so I'm delighted that the festival has invited the youth and junior quartets to showcase their talents."
