Two judges in the box for North of England Area

For the first time in 2017 the North of England will have two judges in the box to decide who qualifies to go to London and Cheltenham.

Gala Theatre
There will be two judges in the box in each section at Durham next year

The organisers of the North of England Regional Brass Band Championships have announced the line-up of adjudicators that will need to be impressed by competing bands if they are to qualify for the National Finals in London and Cheltenham next year.

The event will once again take place at the excellent facilities provided by the Gala Theatre, Durham on the weekend of the 11th & 12th March 2017 (above).

Saturday will see the bands in Sections Two and Four compete, with Sunday seeing rivals in Sections One, Three and Championship take to the stage.

For the first time the North of England will feature two adjudicators per section, with Regional Secretary Tony Griffiths telling 4BR: "The North of England continues to buzz!

Our bands continue their excellent performances nationally and encouragement given to young people in music education is creating new interest in brass bands.

We are committed to providing a successful and vibrant contest weekend."
