The University of Huddersfield has announced details of a new undergraduate music teacher training course.
Opportunity
The Secondary Music Education BA (Hons) with QTS will give students the opportunity to qualify as a Secondary Music Teacher through a three-year undergraduate degree programme.
The course offers the opportunity to develop musicianship and specialist subject knowledge alongside essential teaching skills. Graduates will also be registered for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Top ten
The University was awarded the 2015 Queen's Anniversary Prize for world-leading work to promote, produce and present contemporary music to an international audience, one of the most coveted distinctions in UK Higher Education, whilst its School of Education was recently ranked in the top ten for Education in the Guardian University Guide for the seventh consecutive year.

Aspiring music teachers
Course Leader Rebecca Lundberg told 4BR: "This is a fantastic opportunity for musicians aspiring to become music teachers.
The course allows them to dedicate their time to developing their teaching skills at the same time as refining their subject knowledge with the expertise and support of both the University's Music and Education departments."
