Grand Shield winners Carlton Main has made a few last minute signings ahead of their National Finals challenge at the Royal Albert Hall on the weekend.
Welcome return
There is a welcome return to the ranks for the award winning Toni Durrant on solo euphonium after a short spell away from playing to concentrate on her new career as a Primary School teacher.
Joining Toni is Dan Jackson, who joins after six successful years with Unite the Union Band on solo euphonium. Completing the trio is Ian Walshaw on second baritone, who links up after successful spells at Slaithwaite and Yorkshire Imps.
Day breaks
Meanwhile, the vastly experienced Neil Day comes in on the solo cornet bench following a short break from banding.
He told 4BR: "It's always been an aspiration to be part of a section with Kirsty Abbotts, so once Resident MD Ian McElligott made contact over the Summer I was delighted to take this opportunity."
Youthful experience
Meanwhile, adding youth to the ranks sees the signings of Harry Read and Gareth Hand. Harry joins on second trombone after enjoying himself with South Yorkshire Police Band, Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra and most recently Hade Edge. Gareth returns to re-join the percussion team, after an enjoyable two year spell at Desford.

Thanks
The band also took the opportunity to thank Steve Malcolm who has stepped in at late notice due to dep for tuba stalwart, Roy Batty.
