The North West Brass Bands Association is set to celebrate its 70th Anniversary in style with a fantastic turn out of bands for its forthcoming Rochdale Contest.

On Saturday 22nd October, seven youth bands will take to the stage from 1.00pm in the Great Hall at Rochdale Town Hall. The following day, five sections will take place with 38 bands signed up for action.

Adjudication

Adjudicating on the Saturday will be talented bass trombonist Josh Cirtina, whilst on the Sunday John Binns and Alan Morrison will be the men to impress.

Richard Milton, NWABBA Chair and contest organiser said: "We have had a fantastic response from bands from across the North West, Wales and Yorkshire. It promises to be a very long but rewarding day of competitive music making."

In addition all member bands will receive a copy of 'Prelude 1946' by Dan Price, a concert opener that celebrates the 70th anniversary.
