Big turn out expected for Brighouse Lions Festival

There should be plenty of great music making to enjoy on the contest and concert platform at the Brighouse Lions Festival next month.

26 bands, including last year's champions Wingates, are set to entertain the crowds in Brighouse over the first weekend in July (2nd/3rd July) as part of the 17th Brighouse Lions Festival.

Contest

The contest on Sunday sees the first band march off at 1.00pm, and in addition to the several Championship Section outfits looking to claim their share of the prizes there are plenty of bands from Youth to First Section level too. The adjudicators this year are the experienced pairing of Stan Lippeatt and Brian Rostron.

MC Graham Ward will keep the crowds informed, with the non-stop flow of the event one of the strong features which makes it an ideal day out of entertainment.

Concert

Meanwhile, the Gala Concert on the Saturday evening in the Central Methodist Church is always a special occasion. The Hebden Bridge Band is the featured band this year with a programme of popular music.
