The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators has announced details of its 'Adjudicator Experience Day' which will be held at the 2027 Yorkshire Regional Championships at Huddersfield Town Hall on Saturday 6th March.

If you are you interested in becoming an adjudicator or simply want to find out more about what an adjudicator's role is at a contest, then the initiative offers the chance to do just that.

Mentoring

The day will include mentoring from Martin Heartfield, Head of AoBBA's Development Programme, as well as the opportunity to meet and chat with the official adjudicators, cover score preparation, PAC Code, paperwork, how an adjudicator prepares for the contest.

You will also have the opportunity to undertake your own judging of one of Saturday's contests as well as having a debrief session afterwards.

In once again welcoming the link, Yorkshire Regional Secretary Robert Turnbull told 4BR: "We're only too pleased to be able to accommodate the candidates. The facilities at Huddersfield Town Hall provide for pre-contest and post-contest discussions with the candidates and the hall offers a fantastic acoustic of each band's performance."

He added: "We are delighted that AoBBA, have chosen Yorkshire once again as a venue for their initiative."
