Dobcross Youth has appointed Matthew Hindle as its new Musical Director.
It comes following a recent period of instability following the resignation of Richard Windle in February, with the band telling 4BR that they are looking forward to working with him.
Enthusiasm and dedication
A spokesperson told 4BR: "Matt's enthusiasm and dedication will help the organisation continue its work of teaching children to play brass instruments and enjoy making music as part of a band."
His first musical challenge will be to lead the band at the Saddleworth Whit Friday contests this weekend, followed by a number of concerts and the exciting visit to Spain in July.

Successful
Matt attended Wardle High School with its fine tradition of developing young brass banding talent before continuing his brass band education as a member of the amazingly successful Rochdale Borough Youth Band playing under the baton of the inspirational Eric Landon.
He also played with Pennine Brass before joining Foden's. He also studied at Royal Northern College of Music and is currently the Head of Music at Tottington High School.
