The Eu4iaQuartet has won the prestigious McGrenery Prize for Chamber Music at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.
The quartet is usually made up of Grant Jameson, Matthew Fletcher, Sion Jones and Jack Lapthorn, but with Matthew heading to Lille with Cory for the European Championships, Matt Rowe stepped in with Ben Stratford to help regular members Grant and Jack claim the prize.
Hoping for double
Matt has just joined Tongwynlais Temperance as solo euphonium and will now be hoping to make it a memorable double by helping his new band qualify for the British Open at the Grand Shield contest in Blackpool next weekend.
Grant Jameson told 4BR: "We have enjoyed a great few days! My thanks go to Ben and Matt Rowe for helping out today and of course to Jack Lapthorn!"
