Euph legends set to make dream section for Parkes job

There is a fantastic euph section on show at the forthcoming Peter Parkes celebration concert — so don't miss the chance to hear them in action.

The euphonium section that will take to the stage for the forthcoming 'Major Peter Parkes — A Legend Celebrated' concert in Oldham on Saturday 21st May has been announced.

Euph delight

The section will be a euphonium lover's delight, with the legendary Black Dyke star John Clough to be joined by Morgan Griffiths, Ian Peters, Stuart Derrick and Adrian Nurney.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "You couldn't really get a better euphonium team than that. Adrian and Morgan enjoyed considerable success under 'The Major', whilst Ian gave a performance of a lifetime with him when Fairey won the National on 'Masquerade at the Albert Hall in 1993.

Stuart and John were an amazing Dyke team together with him though — perhaps the greatest ever during his tenure with the band."

The concert will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in Oldham on 21st May at 2.30pm
