Norwegian National Champion Eikanger-Bjorsvik Musikklag has announced that they will be led by the highly respected conductor Ingar H. Bergby at the 2017 Norwegian National Championship and European Championships in Ostend.

Experienced

The vastly experienced MD has a musical connection with the band going back to 1996 and has won the Norwegian Wind Band Championships on five occasions with Lillestrom Musikkorps.

He is currently Chief Conductor for the Royal Norwegian Navy Band in Bergen and has been Associate Conductor of the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra.

Renewed link

He studied clarinet and conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, and conducting at the Sibelius Academy in Finland under Jorma Panula. He recently renewed his link with the band in December where he led Eikanger in the world premiere of 'Sons of Zeus', a double trombone concerto, by composer Svein H. Giske.

We are delighted to renew our link with such a respected musician. We are convinced this partnership will lead to fantastic music making in Bergen and Ostend next yearEikanger Bjorsvik Musikklag
