Uppermill hand out the awards

The Uppermill Band has been making its own awards...

On evening before their performance at the recent North West Regional Championships in Blackpool, the Uppermill Band presented their annual awards in recognition of the outstanding achievements of various players during the past year.

Awards

The 'Most Improved Player' award chosen by MD Alan Widdop, went to flugel horn player Julia Owen, whilst the 'Most Improved Section' was won by the horn section of Cassandra Teggart, Nicola Masters, Lauren Brundell and Gillian Kirkby.

The 'Players Player Award' voted on by the players themselves went to soprano star Mark Rodgers4BR

Bandsperson of the Year

The 'Players Player Award' voted on by the players themselves went to soprano star Mark Rodgers, whilst the 'Bandsperson of the Year' was presented to trombone/baritone player Stephen Hall, who also received the 'Meritorious Service Award'.
