Brass band fans all over the world will be keen to know that the Brass in Concert 2015 highlights DVD is now available to purchase from World of Brass.

Full flavour

For just £24.95 this double disc gives the full flavour of the event's activities.

On DVD 1, Black Dyke are on fine form featuring the stunning Philip Cobb, principal trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra, who also teamed up with Richard Marshall in the renowned cornet duet 'Mac & Mort'.

Bonus features

Bonus features give an educational view of the 2015 event through taster sessions and workshops led by Yamaha Neo Brass Ensemble and Russell Gray.

Elland Silver Youth Band is also on show with its youth entertainment championship winning set based on Charlie Chaplin.

The competition highlights kick off in DVD 2, with all eleven competing bands featured.

Different approach

Frank Renton presents these performances in results order. When in conversation with 4BR, Brass in Concert management team member John Woods said: "This change in sequencing is a different approach to previous DVDs.

We know many viewers already know the results so this is a logical journey through the highlights of a fabulous day of brass entertainment."

Brass in Concert is also a brilliant platform for competing bands to profile new compositions and arrangements, with John expressing his delight that in 2015 over 30 new pieces were heard by the appreciative audience.

Cory winning programme

Winning conductor Philip Harper was also thrilled with how Cory's winning 'Elements' inspired programme is captured in high quality sound and vision by the renowned, award winning World of Sound team.
