Hardraw Scar open for entries

You will need to be quick to get your entry in for one of the most iconic brass band contests in the world...

Hardraw Scar

4BR has been informed that entries are now open for the famous Hardraw Scar contest.

The iconic event is organised by the Yorkshire & Humberside BB Association, and takes place in the natural amphitheatre of the gorge below Hardraw Force waterfall in Upper Wensleydale.

Over the years it has become one of the most popular outdoor contests in the UK calendar.

Own choice entertainment

The own-choice entertainment format contest will take place on Sunday 11th September, with bands playing their programme of music to accompany the gentle babbling of the stream behind the bandstand. The organisers will once again utilise a two stage entry process.

Entries

All entries received by the 13th of March will be considered equally for a place at the contest and, if sections are oversubscribed, places will be allocated by a draw.

The organisers told 4BR: "We are delighted that the contest has become so popular and this two stage process seems to offer the fairest way to ensure that bands have the opportunity to take part in the event, as well as making it easy for bands to complete the entry process."

Yorkshire Dales

In recent years local bands have been joined by bands from various parts of the UK to enjoy a unique contest against the backdrop of the magnificent Yorkshire Dales
