Sterling Miles in front

Sterling hits the Mile mark in New Zealand as yet another top export keeps Sterling flying high.

Steven Miles

Former Brighouse & Rastrick principal euphonium, Steve Miles, has selected the JP374 Sterling Euphonium as his primary instrument.

Now a member of the National Brass Band of New Zealand, Steve was voted 'Best Soloist' at the 2014 New Zealand Band of the Year Championship.

Beautiful instrument

He told 4BR: "The Sterling is a beautiful instrument to play, and certainly the most economical professional level instrument on the market.

It has a very smooth, quiet valve action which is very fluid and the intonation is very good throughout the range. One of my favourite qualities though is the sound that it makes. It's a really singing sound and very responsive on what is such a great free blowing instrument."

Impressed

Steve was also highly impressed with the new JP852 Pro case that the JP374 Sterling is now supplied with.

The JP374 euphonium has recently received an upgrade, with the additional of an ergonomic trigger mechanism. This builds on the highly respected original model that has been previously been positively reviewed by stars such as Mike Howley and Riki McDonnell.

Top choice

Steve's endorsement alongside Riki's places the JP374 Sterling Euphonium as the instrument of choice for arguably New Zealand's two finest euphonium players.
