The organiser's of the popular Brass at the Guild Contest have informed 4BR that there has been a change of date for the 2016 event.

The contest was to have taken place at the Guild Hall in Preston on Sunday 31st January, but will now take place a week earlier on Sunday 24th January.

The change was requested by the management of the Guild Hall who acted swiftly to accommodate the competition.

A spokesperson for the contest told 4BR: "Lancashire Contests looks forward to welcoming the bands to Preston, who will be available to perform the test pieces from Butlins Championship or their Regional set work.
