Tickets for Black Dyke's 160th Anniversary Concert are being snapped up quickly following the announcement of the musical entertainment Pondasher fans can enjoy at Huddersfield Town Hall on the afternoon of 12th July.
With contributions from the Yorkshire Youth Band, the Black Dyke Re-union Band and the European, National and British Open champion itself, it is little wonder demand has been high.
Event to remember
Talking to 4BR, Black Dyke's Music Director Nicholas Childs said that the event will be one to remember.
"We want to be able to provide fans and brass band lovers with a concert that will live long in the memory. That's why we have brought together the past, present and future of Black Dyke as a band and as an organisation that is loved and respected around the whole of the musical world."
Re-union thanks
Prof Childs reserved special thanks to all the past players who got in contact to perform with the Black Dyke Re-union Band.
"It has genuinely been overwhelming, and everyone is excited about sharing the stage together. It really will be a unique occasion to see and hear all these great players perform."
The second half of the concert will feature the Re-union Band of over 100 past members, including the likes of John Clough, Richard Evans, Frank Renton, David Pogson, Derek Southcott, Kevin Wadsworth, John Maines, Colin Hardy, David Thornton, Morgan Griffiths and Colin Aspinall to name but a few.
Classic cornet trio
One of the major highlights however will surely be past principal cornets, Matthew Baker and the legendary James Shepherd joining the current incumbent Richard Marshall in a classic cornet trio.
The concert will be compered by David Hoyle of BBC Radio Leeds, who is also the presenter of the popular, Yorkshire Brass programme.

Yellow Submarine
Sharing the conducting podium with Professor Childs will be guest conductor and former Resident MD, Derek Broadbent, who Will conduct 'David of the White Rock', John Miles' 'Music', and a new arrangement he has made for this special occasion, of 'The Yellow Submarine', which Dyke performed with The Beatles.
The wonderful musical finale will be provided by Eric Ball's 'Journey into Freedom'.
