Third Section National Champion, Ebbw Valley Brass, has moved quickly to secure the signings of a number of players in the build up to the Welsh Regional Championship.

Cornet, sop, tuba

Julie Rooke and Paul Stephens, both formerly of Llwydcoed Band, have joined to boost the cornet and bass sections respectively, with Tim Hughes filling the soprano cornet vacancy.

The band has also welcome the playing return of former Tredegar flugel horn Rob Nesbitt, who returns to his banding routes after a seven year hiatus from playing.

Promotion to the Second Section has been incredible achievement for the band, but and one we are looking forward to as we continue to build on our strong team ethosMD, Gareth Ritter

Achievement

MD Gareth Ritter, told 4BR: “Promotion to the Second Section has been incredible achievement for the band, but and one we are looking forward to as we continue to build on our strong team ethos.

These new players give us yet another extra boost for what is sure to be a challenging year ahead which includes our first CD recording in April.”
