Spinnaker Brass is currently making great headway in preparation for its first ever contest performance as a Third Section band at the West of England Area Championship in a few weeks time.
Really well
A spokesperson told 4BR: “Rehearsals are going really well, confidence is building and the band is optimistic of putting in a very good show.”
Spinnaker Brass has welcomed no less than nine new faces join in recent weeks, with an influx of youth and experience.
New signings
Jordan Masters and Bekki Spinx (who has previously played with Camborne and also the European Youth Band) have joined on solo cornet, with Paula Crawshaw making a welcome return on third cornet.
Owen Pennicote-Henrie, principal trombone with Hampshire Youth Band, has taken on the solo trombone seat, with Jeremy Sakstein on Eb Bass.
The band also welcomes two married couples in Geoff and Julie Penfold join on solo euphonium and first horn Mark and Lorna Riseborough both joining on Eb Bass.
