The inaugural Pangbourne College Brass Day is due to take place on Saturday 31st January.
Based in the heavily wooded area of Pangbourne, West Berkshire on the outskirts of Reading, the College is placed in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Virtuoso performers
Speaking to 4BR, Head of Brass and Bandmaster Jonathan Corry said: “The College is thrilled to host a strong array of fine virtuoso performers and to host several leading groups from The Royal Air Force Music Service.”
During the day, students from prep schools and secondary schools will have the opportunity to take part in workshops delivered by Matt Gee (principal trombone of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra) and Philip Cobb (principal trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra).
Buffet support
Both Matt and Philip are supported by the Buffet group who will have a display of instruments on show.
Matt and Philip will also perform a recital in the Falkland Memorial Chapel before the afternoon is closed by a brass quintet recital given by a quintet from the Central Band of The Royal Air Force.
