Great Yarmouth Brass will be paying tribute to one of their most popular members, Ron Larkins, in a way he would surely have enjoyed this weekend, with a special concert that will feature music played by the three bands that make up the thriving organisation.
Plaque
The band recently played at his funeral service and laid flowers at the local Gorleston bandstand where a plaque has been unveiled in his honour (above).
Now Great Yarmouth Brass will join forces with GYB Future Brass (previously known as the Youth and Training Bands), and with players, many of who have just picked up a brass instrument for the very first time.

Memorial Shield
During the afternoon there will be a performance by the winner of the GYB Future Brass Soloist Competition – the first recipient of the Ron Larkins Memorial Shield.
The event will be rounded off with a joint finale highlighting the inclusive nature, support and team spirit of brass banding which Ron felt was so important to banding.
