The Virtuosi GUS Band will be looking forward to putting their British Open title winning aspirations to the ultimate test in Birmingham on September 6th with the help of their brand new Geneva Symphony cornets.
Delighted
Band Chairman Nigel Love told 4BR: "The band is delighted to be associated with Geneva Instruments in this way.
As two of our star performers in principal cornet James Fountain and flugel horn Thomas Fountain are already Geneva Instrument Artists, it has been ideal to enable the rest of the section to benefit from playing Symphony cornets."
Positive
He added: "The feedback from the players on the sound and feel of the cornets has been extremely positive and the section has enjoyed getting used to their new instruments.
We’re delighted to perform on the outstanding Symphony cornets, which we are sure will help us enormously in our bid to win the British Open."

Top band
A Geneva Instruments spokesperson told 4BR: "It’s always very encouraging to see another top British band choosing Geneva Instruments.
James and Thomas are wonderful players and we are delighted to have them in our artist team."
The spokesperson added: "They are both passionate about the Geneva products so it is an added bonus to have the Virtuosi GUS band join the growing number of top bands playing Geneva Instruments.
We’d like to wish the band every success at the upcoming British Open."
