Just a year on from their formation, Lincolnshire’s newest brass band, Witham Brass continues to make encouraging progress under the baton of Simon Oates.
Welcome
The band recently welcomed Mary Timms on baritone who joined as a result of the one rehearsal per week policy which enabled her to continue playing.
Options
MD Simon Oates told 4BR: "Too often we see good players leave regular playing because bands have failed to address the balance between work and family commitments and weekly rehearsals."
He added: "There are still plenty of options to rehearse twice a week in the area (including our own senior band Foss Dyke) however, Witham Brass is a real alternative to ensuring that as an organisation we continue to cater for players who can no longer manage the commitment of rehearsing twice a week."
