Past and present member of the Bon Accord Silver and Bon Accord B Band’s recently paid their respects at the funeral service of Angus Naples — a loyal and long-time member of the organisation.

Angus, who had been taught bass trombone by the founder Stewart Watson, loved music.

Many groups

As well as being a member of the Bon Accord B Band for more than 14 years, he played in many groups in the Aberdeen area including Aberdeen Concert Orchestra, Stoneywood Band (now Granite City Brass), the Aberdeen City Band and the Boys Brigade Centenary Band.

He loved the social side of banding and had many stories to tell in the pub with friends after rehearsalsBon Accord Band

Loved to learn

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Angus loved to learn and had attended a number of trombone and low brass workshops, and had friends in other groups all over the country.

He loved the social side of banding and had many stories to tell in the pub with friends after rehearsals. He will be sorely missed by everyone in Scottish banding."
