Further Cardiff expansion plans announced

A Community Brass Band will fill any gaps in the M1- M4 corridor of musical connections.

City of Cardiff

The ever expanding City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) Band has announced the creation of their new Community Brass Band.

Fill the need

The innovative organisation hopes that the new band will fill the need which they believe in South Wales exists for an opportunity to make music without the pressures attached to contesting.

Membership will be open to players of all ages and abilities and it is thought there will be a number of ‘retired’ players who would like to renew the fellowship of banding without those contesting pressures.

Friendly venture

Band President Colin Evans told 4BR: "Players will not be registered with the Welsh Brass Band Registry — so registered members of other bands will not be compromised should they decide to join this friendly venture.

When up and running the band will make itself available to fulfil concert and other engagements throughout South Wales."
