Enjoyed
It is understood that the conductor has cited a variety of reasons for his departure, but emphasised how much he had enjoyed working with the Queensbury band and everyone associated with it during his short tenure.
Final appearance
Commenting on his resignation Dr Childs said: "I’m in no rush to leave and I’m looking forward to assisting Nick in the preparation for the British Open.
My final appearance with Black Dyke will be sometime in October which will coincide nicely with the start of the new semester at the Royal Welsh College of Music in Cardiff."
