Downshire Brass in Belfast is launching a new youth initiative where they hope to draw together local brass musicians to participate in a 'Come & Play' rehearsal and concert on 29th June.
Aimed
The event, which is aimed primarily at young players of Grade 4 standard or equivalent, is part of the band's strategy to strengthen its training provision for aspiring brass musicians.
Downshire Chairperson Gary Dodsworth told 4BR: "This is a great event and we hope it will lead to the establishment of a new youth brass band which will help bridge the gap between our current Junior Band and Downshire Brass."
‘Come & Play’ will be lead by the band's MD, Professor Michael Alcorn, Head of Music, Film & Drama at Queen's University.
