The Dr Martin Contest returns to Middlesbrough Town Hall on Sunday 15th September when bands will once again compete for the Wainstones Cup and £8,000 in prize money.

The contest is open to Championship and First Section bands who will all play an own choice march, solo item and Championship standard test piece.

A first prize of £4,000 is on offer for the winners followed by £2,000 for second, £1,000 for third and £500 for fourth, together with £250 for the best march and solo prize winners.

The contest is growing in popularity each year, and entries are therefore strictly limited.

An entry fee of £150 is payable. However all bands will receive a £300 appearance fee.
