Weston warning

Bands may need Red Bull wings to ensure they get to the Weston super Mare contest in plenty of time to perform.

Bands taking part in the popular Weston super Mare contest on Saturday 19th May have been reminded that they will have to take into account possible parking problems as the town is also hosting Red Bull Trials Bike races on the same day.

Contest Controller Brian Elliott has informed 4BR that 28 bands will play their own choice selections at the Winter Gardens starting at 10.15am.

There are contests for joint Championship/First, Second, Third and Fourth Section bands. The adjudicators are Chris Wormald and David Thornton.

Tickets available on the day at the attractive price of £7 (concessions available).

Judges

Chris Wormald will be adjudicating the Fourth and Third Sections, whilst David Thornton will have his judging the Second and joint Championship/First Sections.

The contest is administered on behalf of the South West Brass Band Association and Parkwood Leisure by John Woods, with Brian Elliott as Contest Controller.
