According to event organisers, this year’s Pershore Midsummer Brass Festival shows all the signs of being bigger and better than ever.
Outstanding
A spokesperson told 4BR: "Everyone will be treated to an outstanding array of brass playing from right across the banding spectrum — from beginner level to some of the UK’s top bands.
We are sure the Festival will prove yet again that the social aspect of banding, and the mutual warmth respect that that the event engenders, will guarantee brilliant music making and an entertaining day out for all concerned!"
Youth focus
One of the main focus points will be the continued encouragement and development of Youth and Training Bands.
The day will be begin with a massed youth band, made up of several junior and training bands before all the bands taking part will have the chance to perform at the prestigious Number 8 Theatre in Pershore.
Bandsman in particular will be familiar with NO.8 as it was used as a competition venue when the Wychavon Festival of Brass last visited the town in 2011, and this year it has been graciously offered almost free of charge for the sole purpose of hosting the youth ensembles.

Positive lead
The spokesperson added: "The Festival has always featured youth bands, but now wants to take a positive lead in offering a professional standard playing venues to younger players — and the opportunity for beginners to see, hear and mix with their mature counterparts."
