The young players of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland (NYBBS) are looking forward to their inaugural Easter Course, which will be led by conductor Philip Harper.
Open Day
The three day course takes place at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow from Tuesday 2nd – Thursday 4th April, culminating with an Open Day session for the general public.
The young musicians will be focusing their time on four challenging pieces, and will be opening the doors of their final rehearsal so people can find out more about an organisation that now comprises three bands, catering for a broad mix of abilities and ages from 9 up to 22.
Welcome
The Open Day takes place on Thursday 4th April from 10.30am – 12.00 noon and, together with information about all three of the NYBBS bands, the summer courses and joining instructions, visitors are encouraged to enjoy watching and listening to the premier band in action.
This will also be the first Easter Course for NYBBS and will offer members a valuable opportunity to extend the variety and challenges of the music they perform in preparation for the more extensive Summer Course to be held in Perth from 4-10th August.
