Black Dyke principal cornet Richard Marshall will once again be hosting his popular ‘Cornet Spotlight’ Day at Leeds Town Hall on Sunday May 19th.
Looking forward
In the past three years a host of players have benefitted from working with the cornet star and fellow tutors, and this year Richard will be joined by cornet students of the Royal Northern College of Music.
Richard told 4BR: "I’m really looking forward to once again hosting the event at Leeds Town Hall.
This year, I’ve decided to start proceedings with a performance by the cornet students of the RNCM directed by myself, followed by a massed warm up and rehearsal on a brand new commission by talented young composer Andrew Stevenson."
Dyke in concert
There is the nominal £5 charge for the event, with the added bonus of ending your workout with the chance to hear Black Dyke in concert the same afternoon in the Town Hall — so book your tickets fast!!
