Fleetwood contest extend welcome

The popular Fleetwood Championships still has places up for grabs in all sections — so get your entry forms in.

4BR has been informed that the Fleetwood Open Championships still have places up for grabs in all of its sections.

Popular

The popular own choice event, hosted by Lancashire Contests will be adjudicated on by Paul Andrews and John Doyle this year at the Fleetwood Marine Hall on 7th October.

The invaluable support given by the trustees of Lancashire Contests will enable the 60 year old event to continue to provide an ideal opportunity for bands to test their contesting strengths in what is invariably a highly enjoyable day of music making throughout all sections.

Welcome

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We would like to welcome as many bands as possible to the stage this year. The contest will consist of five sections, a combined Championship & First, Second, Third and Fourth with national gradings to apply, plus a Youth Section."

No Registry

The organisers also made it clear that bands that have entered, or are wishing to enter, the Fleetwood contest, that they will not use the British Brass Band Registry (BBBR) for this year’s contest and that alternative arrangements are being implemented.

The contest administrator will contact all bands to advise them about the procedures that will be used.
