Students set to aid Heroes charity

Students at the RNCM in Manchester will be doing their bit to help the great forces charity later this year.

Brass for Heroes

Students at the Royal Northern College of Music will be doing their bit for the Help for Heroes Charity later this year.

Brass for Heroes

They are to hold a ‘Brass For Heroes Charity Concert’ on Sunday October 7th, at the RNCM, which will feature tuba star Les Neish as the guest soloist and will be conducted by Richard Evans.

Showcase

Josh Cirtina and Luke Dempsey, both aged just 17 and members of the National Youth Band of Great Britain have organised the event, and told 4BR:

"Brass for Heroes will showcase the new generation of brass instrumentalists from across the country in aid of a charity held close to many of the player's hearts. Our main goal is to provide Help for Heroes with as much money as possible."

Young players

The concert will feature a host of young players in the first stages of their university and conservatoire careers in a programme they hope will appeal to a wide variety of musical tastes, with works by the likes of Paul Lovatt-Cooper, Tom Davoren and Jonathan Bates.
