Kapitol Promotions Ltd has announced that it will not use the British Brass Band Registry (BBBR) for the 2012 National Finals.
Primary concern
Philip Morris of Kapitol commented to 4BR: "Our primary concern must lie with the bands participating in the two Finals events in September and October, which have invested a considerable amount of time, effort and money in qualifying for their Finals' places and, indeed, in preparing to attend the Finals themselves.
In the light of the continuing dispute at the BBBR and given the short lead time before the Finals, Kapitol has decided to implement its own contingency arrangements."
Welsh and Scots
He added: "I must stress that our decision does not in any way affect the Welsh and Scottish brass band registries, which continue to operate as normal."

Arrangements
Outlining the arrangements, Philip advised: "Every band registered with the BBBR and competing in this year's two Finals events will receive a letter in the next few days about the new arrangements."
He concluded: "I'd like to stress that our organisation will make every effort to ensure that bands' concerns about registrations and transfers are handled as smoothly as possible."
