Times Award for Elland Youth

The talented young players of Elland Youth Band claim Times sponsors award in Birmingham.

Elland Youth

Elland Silver Youth Band recently took part in the National Music For Youth Festival at Birmingham Town Hall, where their performance earned them a ‘Times Educational Service’ sponsors award.

Oceans

Under the direction of MD Samantha Harrison, the band performed ‘Oceans’ by Goff Richards, which the music mentors described as containing, ‘wonderful balance & blend, with use of dynamic variance as first rate.’

The band have worked really hard in rehearsals to perform the musical detail. It was a joy to conduct them on stage, as they really made the music come to life. The feedback and award was the icing on the cakeSam Harrison

Stunned

Samantha Harrison was stunned with their performance, as she told 4BR:

"The band have worked really hard in rehearsals to perform the musical detail. It was a joy to conduct them on stage, as they really made the music come to life. The feedback and award was the icing on the cake."

Finders crossed

Members of the band are now keeping their fingers crossed for an invite to the Schools Proms at the Royal Albert Hall in November.
