4BR has been informed that after their successful partnership at the North West Area Championships, conductor Paul Andrews will once again team up with Golborne Brass — this time for the National Finals in Cheltenham.
150 years
After an intensive rehearsal schedule, Paul's innovative 8 week development programme saw him lead the band to the Fourth Section Area title in Blackpool — their first major contest success in 150 years!
Right time
Band secretary and principal cornet James Lyon told 4BR: "Whilst at times their was some heat in the kitchen, Paul was able to bring the band to the boil at just the right time for the contest!"
He added: "Paul has instilled in us a professional approach and work ethic that is both sustainable and achievable. We are so pleased to be working with Paul again. With the right attitude and application, I know we can give a good account of ourselves at the Nationals."
Buzz
Paul meanwhile commented: "I got a real buzz from seeing how quickly the band engaged with my development plan. They were committed, enthusiastic and eager to learn."
I've had the pleasure of working with some of the countries finest bands, and the common denominator is always the work ethic. Plan and engage inventively and it works at all levelsPaul Andrews
Help
As the band continue their quest to find a permanent conductor, Paul is only too willing to help them in any way he can.
He added: "I've had the pleasure of working with some of the countries finest bands, and the common denominator is always the work ethic. Plan and engage inventively and it works at all levels."
